The creation of Lightwave Reprographics by National Printers in June 1995 reflected a change from conventional printing technology to digital, or print-on-demand, technology. By using digital technology, Lightwave Reprographics offers offset print customers more options for their traditional printing needs and the opportunity to save time and enhance printing flexibility through electronic file management, while achieving and maintaining a high level of product quality.

We started with one state-of-the-art Xerox Docutech 135 machine. Today, Lightwave Reprographics has a Docutech 6135, a Xerox Nuvera with a Digipath Document management front end and two Canon Digital Colour printers and a Xerox Colour Laser 240. With this technology, short-run production that takes days or weeks to complete using traditional methods can now be done on demand, complete with colour covers, tabs or inserts and standard binding.

Darren has been employed in this Digital environment since its very early days, as both an operator and supervisor. His knowledge of this industry encompasses offset, photocopy and Digital print systems in black and full colour. His technical skills have been increased through both institutional and hands on training in the multi platform environment of today's digital preparation department. This experience enables him to recognize the work requirement, and then direct and provide the best possible solution with the resources available to him in the print area of Lightwave Reprographics.

He takes great pride in being able to provide file preparation solutions for our customers prior to and during the design and creation of jobs in consideration for production here.
